UC Berkeley Cosponsors “The Power of Collaboration”

The University of California at Berkeley School of Public Health observed Public Health Week by cosponsoring a two-day meeting in Oakland, California, that brought together two of the state’s most influential public health organizations—California Public Health Association-North and Southern California Public Health Association—for a joint annual meeting.

“Improving the Public’s Health: The Power of Collaboration” was the theme for this gathering of more than 200 professionals.  The UC Berkeley Public Health Alumni Association sponsored the attendance of eight students, who also presented posters at the meeting.  UC Berkeley SPH students John Garcia, Elizabeth Noth, and Jenny Hyun/Brian Quinn received respectively the first, second, and third prizes in the poster competition. Dr. Richard Jackson, California state public health officer and UC Berkeley Public Health Alumnus of the Year, was among the event’s keynote speakers.
