Texas A&M HSC-SRPH Students Lead President’s Student Advisory Board
Ms. Katy Robertson and Ms. Nina Williams, students at the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health, (HSC-SRPH) are serving on the HSC President’s Student Advisory Board, which serves in an advisory committee to Dr. Nancy W. Dickey, President of the Texas A&M Health Science Center and Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs for the Texas A&M University System.
Ms. Williams, a second-year Master of Health Administration (MHA) student and president of the HSC-SRPH Student Chapter of the Medical Group Management Association, is Chair, while Ms. Robertson, a third-year MHA student and president of the HSC-SRPH Rural Public Health Student Association, is Vice Chair of Planning and Logistics. Both were elected by their peers on the President’s Student Advisory Board (PSAB), with Dr. Linda Brannon, associate vice president for Student Services, serving as advisor.
As PSAB chair, Ms. Williams is responsible for convening and conducting all PSAB meetings. She also is the official student representative voice of the HSC to A&M System Chancellor Dr. Michael D. McKinney and the Chancellor’s Student Advisory Board of the A&M System.
PSAB members work to educate and stimulate student involvement in student affairs across HSC component boundaries, assist in communicating HSC-wide issues to all students, consider matters of policy and their implications on professional and graduate education, and assist in the advancement of the legislative agenda of the Health Science Center as deemed appropriate. At present, the PSAB is advising Dr. Dickey and the HSC regarding the implementation of a new student information system.
