New Documentary on TB Epidemic

"ON THE LAKE: Life and Love in a Distant Place," is a recently released documentary that tells the story of the tuberculosis (TB) epidemic in the early 1900s, as well as the state of TB in the modern world. Dr. Richard Chaisson, director of the Johns Hopkins University Center for Tuberculosis Research and professor of epidemiology and international health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, is one of the experts featured in the documentary.

The film has already been featured this month at TB Awareness Days, including an event at the Harvard School of Public Health. The film will be broadcast nationally on PBS beginning on Sunday, April 12.

Details the movie are available at www.onthelakemovie.com. The site also features TB resources, FAQs and other pertinent information about TB.
