RFP: New Local Health Official Orientation Evaluation Consultant—Due August 29, 2007

The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) is seeking a consultant or consulting firm to develop an outcome-oriented evaluation plan of a NACCHO program, which is a new project that focuses on developing and piloting a curriculum for newly appointed top executives in local health departments.  Evaluation activities for the program include developing a detailed logic model that links program activities and outputs to short-term and long-term outcomes, selecting an evaluation focus, and designing appropriate data collection methods, as well as design some of the data collection instruments.

The immediate goal of the curriculum will be to increase the competencies and skills (self-knowledge, inter-personal skills, and systems knowledge) of new Local Health Officials to "survive and thrive" in their job. The long-term goal is to build local health department capacity, develop effective leadership and strengthen the infrastructure of public health.

Deadline for applications: Close of business, Wednesday, August 29, EDT.

All applicants will be informed as to their status by Friday, September 7.
