Dr. Maja Altarac, assistant professor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health’s department of health care organization and policy, has received one of the 2009 Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center (MHRC) Charles Barkley Excellence in Mentoring Awards. The $500 award recognizes faculty members who have provided outstanding mentoring and have contributed substantially to the career development and retention of students and scholars.
